Job summary

Skills Institute, part of Skills Group, is hiring for a position starting February 2027 to teach in the Bachelor of Applied Business Management. You’ll bring expertise in core business areas, engage with industry, connect theory to practice, and supervise placements.

The role involves delivering engaging learning via workshops and online learning, assessing students, and maintaining active research. Evening/weekend teaching and travel for placement supervision may be required.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Master’s degree at NZQCF Level 9 or higher in business-related field.
• Demonstrated engagement in business-related research or scholarly activity.
• Relevant professional experience in HR, finance/accounting, marketing, or business analysis and strategy.
• Tertiary teaching qualification or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging business management learning through workshops, online teaching and guided independent study.
• Connect business concepts with practical organisational challenges to develop critical thinking.
• Design assessments, provide feedback and contribute to moderation, programme review and curriculum development.
• Supervise and assess industry placements and deliver applied activities tying learning to workplace practice.
• Maintain active research or scholarly activity to inform curriculum and enhance teaching.
• Create an inclusive, culturally responsive learning environment and support learner wellbeing.
