Job summary

Waitara East School is seeking an empathetic, collaborative registered teacher to join as Learning Support Coordinator (LSC) in a 0.5 FTTE, part-time role within our primary team. The LSC will coordinate learning support across the kura, working with SENCO, teachers, whānau and external agencies to ensure tamariki receive needed support.

Qualifications

• Must be a qualified, registered teacher.
• Excellent communication and relational skills.
• Commitment to bicultural practice, Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and living the M.A.N.A values.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate support systems and external agency involvement for students with additional needs.
• Support teachers and learning assistants with inclusive classroom strategies.
• Build positive, collaborative relationships with whānau, local networks, and specialist providers.
• Assist with smooth transition planning for tamariki entering or moving on from our kura.
