We are seeking an experienced and student-focused Learning Specialist to join our Learning and Academic Engagement team on a fixed-term basis.
Reporting to the Senior Manager Learning and Academic Engagement, you will play a key role in developing and delivering inclusive academic learning support services that enhance the success of undergraduate and postgraduate coursework students.
This role offers the opportunity to design and facilitate a range of learning interventions, including individual consultations, small-group sessions, workshops, orientation programmes, and learning resources. You will support students to strengthen their academic literacies, digital capabilities, study skills, and confidence in navigating university learning environments.
Working closely with colleagues across Te Mātāpuna, faculties, and other university divisions, you will contribute to the design of innovative and accessible learning experiences. You will also monitor and evaluate programme effectiveness, using data and student feedback to continuously improve service delivery and student outcomes.
This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on student success while helping shape academic learning support and development across the University and supporting AUT's Te Aronui journey. Please note this role will require some evening teaching.
At AUT you'll be part of a values-led university with a strong, caring culture, flexible working, generous annual leave and support to thrive in your role and career. We provide the tools, trust, recognition frameworks and cultural capability development programmes to help you make a meaningful contribution.
As a professional staff member at AUT, you'll help our university thrive by improving services, supporting students and staff, and driving practical improvements across our campuses. We're looking for someone with energy, curiosity, and a passion for student success, who brings a collaborative and inclusive approach to their work.
You'll also bring cultural humility and respect for Te Tiriti o Waitangi, Indigenous peoples, and diverse communities. Experience supporting equity, accessibility, and inclusion-focused initiatives will be highly valued.
