Job summary

Synapxe is seeking a senior leader to own the vulnerability management function, overseeing assessments, results validation, and remediation prioritization. You will guide and mentor a technical team, coordinate cross‑functional efforts, and deliver authoritative direction to ensure high‑quality outcomes.

You will drive governance, asset inventory integrity, and lifecycle management, translating risk into actionable plans for engineers and senior leaders alike.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in information technology, cybersecurity, computer science, or a related field.
• At least two years of experience leading a team of four or more.
• At least four years in vulnerability management.
• IT infrastructure support or systems administration experience is desirable.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail with troubleshooting ability.
• Proficient in Python with data processing, analysis, transformation and automation.
• Python scripting to automate tasks and manage configurations.
• Experience with vulnerability management tools, databases, Power BI and MS Office.
• Solid understanding of IT infrastructure components and network troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with ITIL, asset management best practices, and good communication.

Responsibilities

• Ensure projects and BAU activities meet timelines, scope and quality.
• Manage expectations across technical teams, vendors and business owners.
• Drive improvements, manage resistance and lead teams through change.
• Take responsibility for outcomes, not just tasks.
• Establish, enforce and improve processes, SOPs and governance.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure systems and ensure secure handshakes with tools.
• Perform root cause analysis on IT systems and networks to support remediation.
• Analyze large vulnerability and asset data to support decision making.
• Generate vulnerability status reports with analytics and indicators.
• Coordinate remediation and asset lifecycle management with cross-functional teams.
• Maintain vulnerability management and IT asset management SOP documentation.
• Stay current with threats and best practices to strengthen security posture.
