Job summary

Rongotai College in Wellington is seeking an innovative and energetic Teacher-in-Charge of Tamatoa Learning Support Unit. The role leads the delivery of high‑quality, individualised teaching and learning for students with high and very high learning needs.

You will lead teachers and teacher aides, oversee planning, monitoring and evaluation, and work with whānau, staff and external agencies to achieve the best outcomes for students.

Qualifications

• NZ registered teacher with current practising certificate.
• Experience leading inclusive learning support in a secondary setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for delivery of high-quality, individualised teaching and learning programmes for students with high and very high learning needs.
• Lead and support teachers and teacher aides in Tamatoa Learning Support Unit.
• Oversee planning, monitoring and evaluating of programmes.
• Collaborate with whānau, staff and external agencies to achieve the best outcomes.
