Sawmill Brewing Company on the North Shore, North Island, New Zealand is seeking a hardworking Production Brewer to join our growing, B-Corp certified team.

You will operate the 50hL, 4-vessel automated brewhouse to produce wort to recipe, complete cellar tasks, monitor quality, safety and packaging readiness. The role emphasizes attention to detail, teamwork and continuous improvement, with a focus on reducing waste and maintaining records.

Qualifications

• Attention to detail across brewing and packing operations.
• Strong multitasking and organisational abilities.
• Brewing education or hands-on brewing experience at a similar scale.
• Solid mechanical skills for maintaining gear and systems.
• Competent numerical literacy and computer skills for record-keeping.
• Good level of physical fitness for full-shift tasks.
• Clear, decisive communication with team members and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Operate the 50hl, 4 vessel automated brewhouse to produce wort to the required quality and quantity.
• Complete cellar tasks including cleaning tanks, yeast handling, centrifuging and fermentation checks.
• Maintain health, food safety and quality standards in fermenting products.
• Be a key member of the sensory team to help analyse beer during brewing and post-packaging.
• Keep accurate production metrics to help drive efficiencies in the brewery.
• Report and monitor machine condition, and assist in maintenance following OEM practices.
