Job summary

Franklin Smith is seeking experienced sheet metal workers to join our Nelson team. You will mark, shape, form and join sheet metal and related materials for diverse projects across New Zealand.

Successful candidates must be a NZ citizen or resident with at least 3 years full-time sheetmetal experience on commercial or civil projects. Police checks and drug testing are required; minimum 30 hours per week and an hourly wage of 28.00–35.00 NZD.

• smooth surfaces with abrasive materials or tools
• fabricate parts or components
• select construction materials
• Ensure all activities are conducted safely and in compliance with Franklin Smith policies and relevant legislation.
• Other duties as reasonably required within the capability of the employee’s role may also be required from time to time.

The ideal candidate will also have:

About the role:

- Minimum 30 hours per week.

- Hourly wage ranging from $28.00 - $35.00.

- Permanent role – Monday to Friday, with extra shifts available on weekends.

- As part of your employment, you may be required to travel to a different region for a different project, including, Auckland, Manawatū-Whanganui, Marlborough, Waikato, Wellington, Otago, Nelson, Hawke’s Bay, Taranaki, Northland, West Coast, Bay of Plenty, Canterbury, Gisborne, Southland.

- You will be given reasonable notice if you are required to relocate to another region. Franklin Smith will cover transportation and accommodation expenses related to the relocation.
