Job summary

NextGen Mobile Repairs and Accessories in Invercargill is seeking an experienced IT Hardware Technician. You will diagnose, repair, configure and upgrade mobile phones, laptops, desktops and other devices, including chip-level PCB work, while supporting customers and running the workshop.

The role requires a Level 7 Diploma and 4+ years of hands-on experience. This is a permanent, full-time position with a minimum 32 hours per week, paid at NZ$30.00–NZ$35.00 per hour depending on skills and

Qualifications

A Level 7 Diploma or higher in IT, computer hardware, electronics or related field.
At least 4 years of hands-on repair and troubleshooting experience.
Proven chip-level/PCB board repair and component replacement ability.
Solid knowledge of computer hardware, OS, drivers and basic networking.

Responsibilities

Diagnose hardware and software faults in mobile devices and computers using diagnostic tools.
Perform chip-level and component repairs on PCBs and motherboards with micro-soldering.
Install, configure and upgrade hardware and software components as needed.
Provide in-store and on-site technical support for residential and business customers.
Oversee workshop operations and maintain accurate repair records and stock.
