Job summary

Ventia in Waikato is hiring two Registered Distribution Line Mechanics to lead crews on critical network projects. You will oversee de-energised construction and maintenance from 240V to 33KV, mentor apprentices, and ensure safety and quality on site.

Ideal candidates have at least 5 years' experience as a Registered Distribution Line Mechanic, strong safety practices, and a NZ Driver's licence. This role requires outdoor work in varying weather and robust teamwork in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience as a Registered Distribution Line Mechanic.
• Experience in de-energised line work and underground cabling.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety practices in electricity distribution.
• Ability to interpret plans and technical information.
• Physically fit for outdoor work and climbing.

Responsibilities

• Lead crews in de-energised network construction and maintenance.
• Oversee pole erection, structure changes and conductor jointing.
• Manage overhead line work from 240V to 33KV and underground cabling.
• Conduct site risk assessments and promote worksite safety leadership.
• Mentor apprentices and support team capability.
