Job summary

Cater Plus is seeking a passionate Chef to join Resthaven Kitchen in Cambridge on a permanent full-time basis. This role offers 40 hours per week across Monday to Sunday, with shifts from 6am–2:30pm or 9am–5:30pm, preparing wholesome meals for approximately 135 residents across two Resthaven sites including a dementia unit.

Qualifications

• Previous Chef experience, preferably in aged care, healthcare or senior living.
• Strong food safety knowledge and ability to meet Food Control Plan requirements.
• Passion for nutritious, quality meals.
• Excellent communication and time-management skills.
• Reliable, flexible and a good team player.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, and serve wholesome meals for residents.
• Monitor food quality during preparation and service.
• Adapt meals to meet dietary requirements.
• Collaborate with managers and kitchen staff.
• Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene.
• Mentor other kitchen team members.
• Occasional sole Chef on duty.
• Keep the kitchen clean, safe and organised.
