Job summary

Fulton Hogan is seeking an Asphalt Leading Hand to join our Tauranga team. This hands-on role requires experience in asphalt paving and leading crews on active sites.

You will manage daily site workflow, supervise labour and machine operation, and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards. Ideal candidates will have proven asphalt paving experience, Class 2 licence with WTR endorsements, and the ability to coordinate people and equipment under changing conditions.

Qualifications

• Proven asphalt paving experience with crew leadership.
• Ability to coordinate people, plant, trucks and changing site conditions.
• Strong knowledge of asphalt laying, compaction, levels and joints; focus on finish quality.

Responsibilities

• Support daily workflow on site and ensure work is delivered safely, on time and to a high standard.
• Perform asphalt labouring and machine operating tasks with equipment checks and site housekeeping.
• Participate in pre-starts, understand hazards and controls, and follow safety, environmental and quality requirements.
• Operate machinery and tools safely and only when trained, competent and licensed to do so.
• Mentor less experienced team members and step into Foreperson role when required.
• Lead from the front on active worksites and coordinate with crews, trucks and plant.
