Job summary

Groundswell Landscaping in Queenstown seeks a Gardening Team Leader to head residential garden maintenance across the Queenstown Lakes District. You will guide a small crew, coordinate projects, and ensure high-quality results for clients.

You will manage client communication, scheduling, and on-site operations, with opportunities for professional growth, autonomy, and a supportive team environment. A company vehicle and devices are provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of professional gardening experience.
• Ability to manage people and projects.
• Strong knowledge of horticulture practices.
• Excellent work ethic and physical fitness.
• Effective communication and collaborative mindset.
• Experience in client-facing roles.
• Experience with agricultural chemicals is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of 2-6 people.
• Gardening tasks including weeding, trimming, fertilising, mowing, dethatching, coring, and seasonal maintenance.
• Schedule work for your team and keep clients updated.
• Assess trees and plants for health and provide treatments where needed.
• Handle irrigation checks, repairs, and installations where needed.
• Maintain a high standard of customer satisfaction and professionalism.
• Keep on top of seasonal maintenance tasks.
