Job summary

Treasury Wine Estates – Witherlea, Marlborough, New Zealand, is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join the Matua Marlborough team. You will perform quality control checks through routine sampling, testing and reporting, troubleshoot issues, and support a collaborative lab environment.

The role requires experience with laboratory instrumentation, a scientific degree, and flexibility during harvest. You will contribute to maintaining quality systems and supporting winemaking and cellar operations.

Qualifications

• Experience using and maintaining a range of laboratory instrumentation.
• A tertiary qualification in a scientific field is preferred.
• Able to work flexible hours during peak harvest periods.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out quality control checks via routine sampling, testing and reporting.
• Troubleshoot and solve problems as they arise.
• Maintain and improve quality systems.
• Support other team members in a close-knit laboratory group.

We are currently looking for a Laboratory Technician to join the Matua Marlborough team.

In this role you will work as part of a multi-disciplined Laboratory team who provide technical service and support to our winemaking and cellar teams.

About the role

• Carrying out quality control checks via routine sampling, testing and reporting
• Trouble-shooting and problem solving
• Maintaining and improving quality systems
• Supporting other team members of a close-knit team

About you

• Be experienced in the use and maintenance of a range of laboratory instrumentation
• Ideally be tertiary qualification, preferably in a scientific field
• Be able to work flexible hours as required during our peak harvest period
• Show exceptional analytical, problem solving, attention to detail and organisational skills
• Prove yourself to be pragmatic, self-motivated, solutions and customer focused
• Be able to work independently as well as in a team environment
• Practical experience in the beverage/food industry will be highly regarded
