Job summary

Colonial Group is seeking a Kitchen Hand to maintain high hygiene standards and assist the kitchen team with basic prep and cleaning tasks. You will clean crockery, utensils and equipment using both machines and manual methods, and help with kitchen duties to support a smooth service flow.

Ideal candidates enjoy working in a fast-paced, diverse team and can adapt to flexible shifts including mornings, late evenings, weekends and public holidays. Prior kitchen or cleaning experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain hygiene by cleaning crockery, cutlery, glassware and equipment using dishwashers or manual methods.

• Assist kitchen team with basic prep like grating, peeling, chopping and garnishing.

Purpose

As a Kitchen Hand, your role is pivotal in maintaining the sparkle of our kitchen. Your main responsibilities involve upholding cleanliness, including dishware, utensils, and workspaces, all while strictly adhering to hygiene standards. You are an integral part of the kitchen brigade, collaborating seamlessly to deliver exceptional dining experiences for our valued guests.

Primary Responsibilities

• Maintain impeccable hygiene while cleaning crockery, cutlery, glassware, and other kitchen equipment, using both commercial dishwashers and manual cleaning methods
• Carry out rubbish removal, sweeping and mopping of kitchen floors
• Disinfect and clean, ensuring the proper sequence of chemical usage
• Provide valuable support to our kitchen team, including various tasks such as basic food preparation, grating, peeling, chopping, and preparing batters, garnishes, and seasonings.

Skills & Experience

• Having practical experience in kitchen operations or cleaning is a plus
• Have an enthusiastic "can-do" attitude and a positive and motivated demeanour
• You thrive working within a diverse team in a fast-paced environment
