Job summary

Novotel & Ibis Auckland Ellerslie is seeking a Kitchen Attendant to help keep the kitchen running smoothly. You will assist chefs, maintain cleanliness, and ensure stock and surfaces meet standards.

Join a busy hospitality team with opportunities for development, staff rates, and a supportive work culture in Auckland. Rotating shifts and early mornings/late nights are required for this role.

Qualifications

• Friendly, professional attitude with strong communication and time-management.
• Able to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexible with rotating 7-day roster including early morning or late-night shifts.
• Basic food safety knowledge; kitchen or hotel service experience beneficial but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Support kitchen operations through basic food preparation and assisting chefs during busy service periods.
• Maintain cleanliness by washing dishes/equipment and keeping all kitchen surfaces hygienic and organised.
• Manage waste by regularly removing rubbish and recycling, ensuring disposal areas stay tidy.
• Help with receiving, storing, and rotating food and supplies while following all health, safety, and food-handling procedures.
