Job summary

Novotel Auckland Ellerslie is seeking a Kitchen Attendant to support busy kitchen operations, maintain cleanliness, stock and assist chefs during service.

You will work in a fast-paced hospitality environment in Auckland, with early morning and late-night shifts on a rotating 7-day roster. Basic food safety knowledge preferred but not essential.

This role offers development opportunities and staff rates across Accor hotels, with a supportive team and inclusive culture.

Qualifications

• Friendly, professional attitude with strong communication and time-management.
• Able to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexible with scheduling, rotating 7-day roster with early mornings or late nights.
• Basic food safety knowledge; kitchen or hotel service experience beneficial but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness by washing dishes/equipment and keeping kitchen surfaces hygienic and organised.
• Manage waste by removing rubbish and recycling, ensuring disposal areas stay tidy.
• Help with receiving, storing, and rotating food and supplies according to health and safety procedures.

Job Description

As a Kitchen Attendant, you’ll play a vital role in keeping our kitchen running smoothly and efficiently. Your efforts will help our chefs create memorable meals by ensuring the kitchen is clean, organised and well-stocked at all times.

• Support kitchen operations through basic food preparation and assisting chefs during busy service periods.
• Maintain cleanliness by washing dishes/equipment and keeping all kitchen surfaces hygienic and organised.
• Manage waste by regularly removing rubbish and recycling, ensuring disposal areas stay tidy.
• Help with receiving, storing, and rotating food and supplies while following all health, safety, and food-handling procedures.
