Job summary

Presbyterian Support Otago (PSO) is seeking a Kitchen Hand to join Iona's team in Oamaru, supporting meals for residents and community programs. The role focuses on the clean-up shift, washing dishes, and maintaining a tidy kitchen and dining area within a small, supportive team delivering high-quality meals.

Permanent, part-time position with a 3-hour Tuesday shift (1700–2000hrs). Full training is provided, and the role offers opportunities to grow within a well-known charitable organisation

• You will undertake the clean-up shift where you will wash dishes and be responsible for cleaning the kitchen and dining room.

Job description

You will be a key part of the team involved in the preparation and cooking of meals for approximately 90 people in residential care and independent living units. Iona also has a contract to provide meals for Oamaru Public Hospital and local Meals on Wheels. Working in a small, supportive kitchen team providing a high standard of meals to residents in care homes and the community.

In this role, you will be undertaking the clean-up shift where you will wash dishes and be responsible for cleaning the kitchen and dining room. You will provide an efficient and effective service, in accordance with the Enliven Philosophy.

Hours:

Permanent, part-time position working a 3-hour shift once a week, 1700-2000hrs on a Tuesday
