Bupa Ascot Care Home in Invercargill is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support daily kitchen operations, including food preparation and dishwashing. You’ll work in a warm environment serving residents and maintaining high presentation standards.

Casual role with no guaranteed hours. Experience preferred, but full training will be provided to help you grow with our team in a supportive setting.

Qualifications

• 1 year experience in a similar role preferred, but full training provided.
• Experience following established recipes and preparing food to a high standard.
• Proactive team player who can work independently and pitch in where needed.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality presentation.
• Excellent time management and communication skills, following instructions accurately.

Bupa Ascot Care Home is located inGlengarry, Invercargill, opposite Ascot Park Raceway. The care home is surrounded by landscaped gardens and offers a warm, welcoming environment for residents.

As a Kitchen Assistantyou will:

• Assist with food preparation


• Undertake General kitchen duties (dishwashing and cleaning)


• Work independently and collaboratively as part of a busy kitchen team


• Adhere to Hygiene and food safety standards


• Maintain confidentiality


• Follow Health and Safety procedures

What you’ll needto make it possible

• Preferably 1 year experience in a similar role, but full training and development will be provided


• Have experience following established recipes and preparing food to a high standard.


• Be a proactive team player who can work independently and pitch in where needed


• Possess strong attention to detail and commitment to quality presentation


• Excellent time management & communication skills, following instruction accurately


• Empathetic, enthusiastic, and passionate about making a positive difference for residents


• Available to work rotating rostered shifts, including weekends


• Reliable transport and travel arrangements
