Radius Care in Palmerston North is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support our kitchen team in providing nutritious, well-presented meals to residents.

You will help with meal service, maintain hygiene, clean equipment, and report any faulty gear to the Cook. Previous kitchen experience is preferred but not required. This casual role offers on-site work and an opportunity to grow qualifications through NZQA-supported training.

Hours of work: Casual, as and when required

Note: Radius Care cannot support work visas/visa changes for this role. Visa-holders must have a current visa with open work rights and preferably at least 6 months left until expiry.

About the role:

Gain valuable experience working closely with our kitchen team. Assist with the meal service and providing nutritious, well-presented meals to our residents. Aid the kitchen team to provide a hygienic work environment. Assume responsibility for cleaning food prep equipment and utensils. Report any faulty equipment to the Cook.

Duties include:

• Ensuring utensils and equipment are clean, and stored safely and correctly

• General kitchen duties, including dishwashing

• Maintaining infection control principles

• Handling, labelling, and storing chemicals correctly

• Meeting timetables
