Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora in Ashburton is seeking a Kitchen Assistant for the WellFood Department. You will support the kitchen, serve patients and whānau, and help with trayline meal service.

The role is casual with a starting rate of $28.63 per hour, based on the E tū Service and Food Workers collective agreement. A reliable and flexible kaimahi is welcomed to join the team.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills.

• Previous experience in a kitchen or similar environment is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general kitchen and cleaning duties, including washing dishes.
• Provide great customer service to patients and their whānau.
• Trayline dishing up of meals and desserts.
• Collect meal trays from patients.
• Assist with closing the café.

Health New Zealand is looking for a Kitchen Assistant to join the Ashburton Hospital WellFood Department. Join our dedicated and hard-working WellFood Department and help feed our tūroro (patients) and whānau (families).

You will be responsible for:

• Carrying out the general kitchen and cleaning duties which will include washing dishes
• Providing great customer service to our tūroro (patients) and their whānau
• Trayline dishing up of meals and desserts
• Collecting meal trays from our tūroro (patients)
• Closing the café

Starting rate $28.63 per hour. Based on the E tū Service and Food Workers collective agreement

We are looking for a reliable, hardworking and flexible candidate who is able to bring their passion to the Ashburton kitchen. WellFood is looking for motivated and punctual kaimahi (staff) to join our kapa (team).
