Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora in Greymouth is seeking a casual kitchen assistant to support our cooks, prepare and present meals for staff, patients and visitors, and deliver meals across the hospital.

You will work in a busy, customer-focused environment, with training provided and opportunities to develop food-service skills while contributing to a clean, safe and tidy workspace.

About the Role

Our kitchen team are responsible for creating highest standard Food for our staff, patients and visitors. Following standardised recipes and using creative flair to present food that we can be proud of while maintaining clean and tidy working areas.

A large part of this role is customer focused so you will need strong customer service skills and the ability to deal with a wide range of people from diverse backgrounds. Training will be provided.

Salary

Starting rate $28.63 per hour. Based on the E tū Service and Food Workers collective agreement.

About you

Skills and Experience

• Skilled kitchen assistant with experience within a similar environment would be ideal
• Strong teamwork skills and the ability to work autonomously as well
• Physically fit and reliable
