Job summary

Wharerangi Village, part of Oceania, is seeking Kitchen Assistants to join our team. We offer full-time or casual shifts, with a focus on warm service and a positive dining experience for residents.

You’ll help with meal prep, serve meals, and keep kitchens clean and safe while supporting teammates in a busy service environment.

Qualifications

We’re looking for Kitchen Assistants to join our team, with opportunities available for people looking for either full-time or casual work.


Whether you’re looking for the consistency of a full-time role or the flexibility of casual shifts, you’ll be part of a team that takes pride in creating a welcoming and enjoyable dining experience for our residents.


What you’ll be doing

As a Kitchen Assistant, you’ll help keep our kitchen running smoothly and support our wider team to deliver great experiences for our residents. You’ll:



  • Assist with meal preparation and general kitchen duties

  • Help prepare and serve meals to our residents

  • Keep kitchen and dining areas clean, safe and well organised

  • Provide warm, friendly service and take pride in the experience you create

  • Work alongside your teammates to make sure things get done

  • Continue learning and building your skills along the way


What you’ll bring

We’re looking for people who genuinely care about doing a good job and contributing to a great team. Ideally, you’ll bring:



  • Experience in a kitchen, hospitality or similar environment

  • A passion for food and providing great service

  • A positive, team-first attitude

  • Great communication and organisation skills

  • The ability to multitask and manage your time effectively

  • Good attention to detail and a commitment to following food safety and cleaning procedures

  • Flexibility to work rostered shifts

  • The right to work in New Zealand
