Job summary

Western Bay of Plenty District Council invites applications for a fixed-term 14-month parental leave cover role at Te Puke Library and Service Centre. The position is 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturdays.

You will develop and deliver engaging library programmes for children and youth, and drive community engagement. We require a Level 5 library qualification (or equivalent) and at least 2 years of relevant experience, with knowledge of children’s librarianship, planning

Qualifications

Level 5 library qualification or equivalent.
Minimum of 2 years relevant library experience.
Knowledge of children’s librarianship, planning and programming delivery.

Responsibilities

Develop and deliver library programmes for children and youth.
Engage with the community and whanau to promote reading, technology and creativity.
Lead, promote and deliver innovative library programmes, events and services.
Collaborate with teams and demonstrate whanaungatanga and manaakitanga daily.
Build effective relationships and work autonomously.
