Job summary

Western Bay of Plenty District Council’s Te Puke Library is seeking a dynamic library professional to deliver innovative programmes for children and youth. The role runs Monday–Friday, 40 hours, with some Saturdays by agreement, and focuses on reading, technology and creativity in a friendly community setting.

You will hold a Level 5 library qualification (or equivalent) with at least two years’ experience, and you will thrive on engaging with families and whānau while delivering high‑quality

Qualifications

• Level 5 library qualification or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years' relevant experience.
• Knowledge of children's librarianship, planning and programming delivery.
• Strong written and verbal communications.
• Ability to build relationships and engage whānau.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver library programmes to children and youth.
• Engage with your community and whānau to promote reading, technology and creativity.
• Lead and promote innovative library programmes, events and services.
• Operate in Te Puke Library with a collaborative approach and manaakitanga.
