Job summary

Christchurch City Council is seeking a Contract Supervisor to lead the kerbside collection contract across Christchurch and Banks Peninsula. You will ensure service standards, LOS and KPIs are achieved while managing expenditures and contractor performance.

In this fast-paced role, you’ll build relationships with the contractor and internal teams, provide technical guidance, and drive continuous improvement to deliver value for money for the community. Flexible working options are available.

Qualifications

• Relevant experience in contract supervision, asset management, waste management or related field is required.
• Strong relationship-management and communication skills are essential.
• Experience in audits and ensuring contractual and operational requirements are met.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day kerbside collection contract management to meet LOS, KPIs and contractual obligations.
• Monitor contractor performance and ensure value-for-money for Council.
• Provide practical and technical advice to internal/external customers and contractors.
• Manage contract expenditure and conduct audits and follow-ups on issues.
• Identify service issues and drive improvements with the contractor.
