Founded in 1856, The Christchurch Club is a prestigious establishment steeped in tradition, boasting an active social calendar and two fine dining restaurants. We are seeking a Junior Sous Chef to join our team.
Role Overview:
The Christchurch Club is seeking an experienced and motivated Junior Sous Chef to join our kitchen team. The successful candidate will be confident in managing their designated section while demonstrating a strong working knowledge of all areas of the kitchen.
You will have a passion for quality food, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to consistently deliver high standards in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for following established recipes, procedures, and Club standards, while supporting the training and development of junior team members. A strong commitment to food safety, health and safety, quality, and teamwork is essential.
The Club is open Tuesday to Saturday and is closed for the 3 weeks over the Christmas/New Year period, a very unique hospitality opportunity.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the day-to-day operation of the kitchen across dining, functions, and events.
Prepare and present food to a consistently high standard.
Manage your section efficiently, ensuring quality, organisation, and timely service.
Contribute to menu development, specials, and meeting dietary requirements.
Assist with stock control, ordering, portion control, and minimising food waste.
Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen procedures.
Support and guide junior team members while working collaboratively with the kitchen and Front of House teams.
Requirements:
Minimum4 years' experience as a Chef de Partie.
Strong ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen while maintaining quality and consistency.
Excellent communication, organisation, and attention to detail.
A team player who can confidently lead, support, and train junior team members when required.
Professional, proactive, and passionate about delivering high-quality food and an exceptional member and guest experience.
