Job summary

Ahipao Eats Limited in Auckland is seeking a Junior Production Assistant to join our production team. You will help steam and press garments, perform hand finishing, and ensure finish quality.

This role suits someone with very high attention to detail and an interest in textiles. No formal experience is required if you can demonstrate the skills above.

Full-time schedule is five days a week (Saturday and Sunday plus three flexible weekdays); commuting costs may be covered for the right candidate.

Ahipao is a micro manufacturer of luxury natural fibre knitwear based on Waiheke Island. We every process under one roof - design, knit, hand-finish, wash, steam + press, label, package.

We're looking for a Junior Production Assistant to join our production team. This role suits someone with genuinely high attention to detail who takes pride in getting finishing work exactly right.

The role

Full-time, 5 days a week: every Saturday and Sunday, plus three weekdays (flexible on which three)

Ahipao can cover commuting costs for the right candidate

What you'll be doing

• Steaming and pressing garments
• Quality control assessment
• Hand finishing
• Using an industrial sewing machine to attach labels and buttons
• Packaging finished stock into the correct boxes

What we're looking for

• Very high attention to detail
• Proven textile hand-work skills: this doesn't need to be professional experience - knitting, sewing, or crocheting as a hobby counts, as long as you have a solid base knowledge of textiles and how they behave
• Relevant qualifications or previous industry experience will be highly regarded, but are not essential if you can demonstrate the skills above
• Must be 5 ft 6 (168 cm) or taller, due to the height of the machinery used in this role
