We're looking for a motivated and tech-savvy Junior IT Engineer to join our IT team.

This is a hands-on role supporting both business applications and IT infrastructure. You'll help develop and improve our systems, troubleshoot technical issues, and provide day-to-day support to users across the business.

We're looking for someone who is curious, practical, solutions-focused, and eager to learn and grow their technical skills.

Your Impact

Gather and analyse business requirements and user feedback, and work with users to deliver practical technical solutions.

Assist with unit and functionality testing, data migration, data imports, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including preparing test scripts and training documentation.

Reproduce and troubleshoot system issues, track bugs, and support their resolution.

Provide day-to-day support for hardware, software, operating systems, and business applications, responding to user IT requests.

Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, operating systems, network equipment, and IT infrastructure, while managing IT asset tracking and inventory.

Support business applications and IT security requirements, helping ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

What You Bring

A qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, with 1+ years of commercial or practical software development experience; Python experience preferred.

Solid foundational knowledge of SQL and relational databases, Git/SVN, Windows/Linux operating systems, and basic networking.

Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills, with a practical and solutions-focused approach and good attention to detail and organisation.

Clear and effective communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with both technical and non-technical teams.

A curious and growth-focused mindset, with the ability to learn new technologies and confidently tackle unfamiliar challenges.

Experience supporting business applications or working in a manufacturing environment is an advantage.

Why Join Us

Join a growing New Zealand manufacturer and gain hands-on experience across software development, business applications, and IT infrastructure.

You'll work alongside experienced professionals, gain exposure to real business systems, and have the opportunity to develop your technical skills and build a long-term career in IT.
