Job summary

AWF New Zealand is partnering with Endura Mining to recruit Jumbo Operators for permanent, full-time roles at the Greymouth underground operation on a 7 days on / 7 days off roster. You will operate a jumbo rig in a fast-paced underground environment and support safe development in the Snowy River project near Greymouth.

We are seeking experienced operators with a strong safety focus and relevant qualifications.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Jumbo Operator experience in underground mining.
• Jumbo Operator certification.
• First Aid certificate and relevant licences (WTR, Class 2/4).

Responsibilities

• Operate a jumbo rig to achieve development targets safely and efficiently.
• Install ground support in line with the Ground Control Management Plan.
• Bore development headings to required profiles and standards.
• Assist with installation and maintenance of underground services.
• Support development charge-up and related underground tasks.
• Follow mine plans and communicate effectively across crews and shifts.
• Complete required reports, documentation and checklists.
• Maintain clear and professional radio communications.

The Role

We are seeking experienced Jumbo Operators for permanent, full-time positions near Greymouth. You will work in a fast-paced underground environment, operating a jumbo rig while supporting safe and efficient mine development.

This role operates on a 7 days on / 7 days off roster, with some flexibility available to support work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

Jumbo Operation

• Operate a jumbo rig to achieve development targets safely and efficiently
• Install ground support in line with the Ground Control Management Plan
• Bore development headings to required profiles and standards
• Assist with installation and maintenance of underground services
• Support development charge-up and related underground tasks
• Follow mine plans and communicate effectively across crews and shifts
• Complete required reports, documentation and checklists
• Maintain clear and professional radio communications

Safety and Compliance

• Lead by example in maintaining a strong safety culture
• Identify, report and manage hazards proactively
• Ensure compliance with site health, safety and environmental procedures
• Participate in safety inspections and verification activities
• Adhere to all statutory requirements and operational standards
• Maintain fitness for work, including strict drug and alcohol compliance

About You

Experience and Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years' experience as a Jumbo Operator
• Experience in underground mining (metalliferous, tunnelling or production)
• Relevant Jumbo Operator certification
• Full Manual Driver's Licence
• First Aid Certificate
• WTR and Class 2/4 licences (or willingness to obtain)
