Job summary

Endura Mining in New Zealand seeks an experienced Jumbo Operator to lead a small crew and run a jumbo rig on development and production mining work. You will ensure safe operations, follow ground control plans, and maintain equipment performance on site.

The role requires 5+ years in jumbo operation, relevant certifications, and a strong commitment to safety and environmental procedures in a tunnelling or metalliferous setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a jumbo operator in mining.
• Jumbo Operations certification.
• First Aid certificate.
• Full NZ manual driving licence with clean record.
• Class 2 and 4 licences or willingness to obtain.
• WTR qualification or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Ensure duty of care in all aspects of work.
• Maintain safety culture and enforce health and safety procedures.
• Report incidents promptly and participate in safety verifications.
• Comply with site procedures and environmental standards.
• Attend rostered shifts and maintain zero tolerance to drugs and alcohol.
• Protect the environment through site procedures.

We are looking for a Jumbo Operator who thrives in fast paced, evolving environments. This role is responsible for operating a jumbo rig, lead a small team and oversee safe operations across site.

The successful candidate will have experience in operating mobile equipment in a tunnelling, metalliferous or production environment.

Job requirements

• Installation of ground support in accordance with Ground Control Management Plan
• Boring of development excavation profiles to desired profile and in accordance to the mine safety and inspection act and regulations
• Provision of expertise in the installation &/or maintenance of underground services, development charge-up & other tasks as required
• Responsibilities pursuant with senior role within the underground mining crew
• Complying with issued plans and communicating with crew and cross shifts
• Ensure compliance with all environmental procedures and standards
• Maintain a positive attitude to safety, leading by example in reporting and management of hazards in the workplace
• Completion of paperwork, documentation and other tools required by site procedures and policies.
• Undertaking additional / alternative responsibilities as reasonably assigned by the Mine Superintendent or Mining Manager
• Participate in safety and environmental verification activities and inspections

Job benefits

• Full Manual Drivers Licence with no adverse driving charges.
• Class 2 and 4 Drivers Licence qualification or willingness to acquire.
• Wheels, Tracks, Rollers (WTR) qualification or willingness to acquire.
