Job summary

Data Erasure NZ is seeking an IT Sales Technician whose role combines hands-on IT hardware work with outbound sales and customer relationship building. You will be a key part of our customer experience team, preparing devices for sale, performing repairs, listing stock, and engaging with resellers and SMB customers.

You’ll also manage CRM entries, build sales lists, and travel to customer sites for collections and IT deployments, sometimes out of hours.

Qualifications

• Interest in IT hardware with a hands-on approach.
• Ability to perform simple laptop/desktop repairs and OS reloads.
• Strong IT skills, especially Excel and CRM.
• Sales mindset with ability to reach out to customers and resellers.
• Good organisation and attention to detail in stock and orders.
• Willingness to travel for on-site deployments, including occasional out-of-hours work.
• Self-starter who can own and shape the role within a small team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare laptops, desktops, phones, tablets and other IT assets for resale—testing, grading, cleaning and listing them for sale.
• Carry out simple hands-on repairs: swapping drives, replacing parts and reinstalling Windows.
• Manage and grow outbound sales website, keep stock listings accurate and CRM up-to-date.
• Build and maintain sales lists and client database, share stock with resellers and SMBs.
• Pack and prepare stock for shipping, keep orders accurate and on time.
• Develop relationships directly with SMB customers and resellers as a genuine contact.
• Identify opportunities to grow market share and new reseller/customer relationships.
• Keep records of stock, sales and repairs with agreed turnaround times.
• Attend customer sites for IT deployments and rollouts; may include travel.
