Job summary

Network Tasman Limited is seeking an experienced IT professional to lead its IT function as the sole IT Manager, reporting to the CFO. This hands-on role covers networks, devices and critical systems while guiding multi-year IT development plans.

You will drive IT projects, manage vendors, provide helpdesk support, and collaborate with business leaders in a consumer-owned utility based in Nelson. A Bachelor's degree in technology and 5+ years in IT are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a technology-related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years in IT, with leadership of IT projects.
  • Strong understanding of IT systems, networking, security and enterprise apps.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Network Tasman Limited's IT function as sole-charge IT Manager, reporting to CFO.
  • Oversee day-to-day IT operations including networks, devices and core systems; drive major initiatives.
  • Manage projects end-to-end, vendor relationships, and provide staff support and system administration.

About The Role:

Network Tasman Limited is seeking an experienced, hands-on IT professional to lead its IT function as sole-charge IT Manager, reporting to the Chief Financial Officer. This is a technically hands-on role responsible for the smooth day-to-day running of IT operations, including network infrastructure, mobile devices and business-critical systems, while driving key technology initiatives that support business growth and efficiency. You will oversee and drive IT projects from concept through delivery, contribute to a 5-year IT development plan, and act as the primary IT contact for staff across the business, providing helpdesk support, system administration and vendor management as required.

Skills & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in a technology-related field, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 5 years' experience in an IT environment, including experience leading IT projects.
  • Strong technical understanding of IT systems, networking, security and enterprise applications.
  • Proven ability to deliver IT projects on time and within budget.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to plan and manage multiple projects effectively.
  • Strong awareness of IT risk and security management.
  • Personable and approachable, with excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Comfortable working independently in a sole-charge capacity, while collaborating with business leaders and external vendors.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to a constantly changing environment, working across teams and across the business.
