Job summary

Department of Conservation (DOC) in Wellington is seeking a skilled Business Engagement Advisor to bridge the ISS team and DOC's business units. You will translate business needs into effective technology solutions and support delivery and adoption of new systems across the organisation.

You will engage with stakeholders, analyse needs, and recommend IT solutions aligned with DOC's strategic goals, working to improve operational efficiency and digital processes.

Qualifications

• Effective communicator who can work with stakeholders across the business.
• Strong relationship building skills and experience.
• Good business analysis skills to understand requirements.
• Ability to translate business needs into IT solutions.
• Understanding of IT systems and tools (ServiceNow, Microsoft Office) is advantageous.
• Active listening to understand differing perspectives and communicate IT solutions.
• Experience working within complex organisational structures, dependencies, and priorities.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with business units and the ISS team to align technology with priorities.
• Analyze business needs, pain points, and opportunities for improvement.
• Identify and recommend IT solutions that enhance efficiency and align with DOC's goals.
• Support project delivery and change management for successful system adoption.
• Communicate between business and technical teams, translating requirements into actionable insights.
• Stay informed about emerging technologies and best practices to improve digital engagement and processes.
