Job summary

Carters Wellington South Branch in Rongotai is seeking an Inventory Coordinator who will own stock accuracy and ensure records are correct. This hands-on role values precision, initiative, and a customer-first mindset to keep operations running smoothly and customers satisfied.

You will place orders, run stock checks, manage supplier relationships, verify deliveries, and help maintain a safe, organised goods-in area while supporting the team and customers both in person and over the phone.

Qualifications

• Inventory management or purchasing experience is desirable.
• Capable in navigating computer systems with a good grasp of technology.
• Team-oriented with a positive, customer-first attitude.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; pride in accurate, efficient operations.
• Ability to prioritise and juggle multiple tasks in a busy branch.
• Forklift licence and competency is a bonus but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Place orders with preferred suppliers, verify prices, and keep FINOPS records accurate.
• Run regular stock checks, daily/monthly FINOPS reports, and participate in branch stocktakes.
• Manage ongoing supplier relationships; resolve issues, manage credit requests, and maintain preferred supplier arrangements.
• Check deliveries against packing slips and keep the goods-in area well organised.
• Follow up outstanding purchase orders, confirmations and apply freight charges correctly.
• Identify hazards and help maintain a safe working environment for staff, customers, and visitors.
• Support the team and engage with customers in person and via inbound calls.

Our CARTERS Wellington South Branch in Rongotai is on the hunt for a detail-focused Inventory Coordinator to become part of the team. You will report directly to the Branch Manager and take ownership of stock accuracy, making sure records are correct, minimum stock levels are kept up to date, and every process lines up with best practice and company standards.

This is a hands-on role where precision and initiative aren't just nice-to-haves. They shape how the branch runs and how customers experience it. If you are someone who thrives on variety, systems, stock, and people, we would love to hear from you.

• Placing orders with preferred suppliers, verifying prices, and keeping FINOPS records accurate
