Job summary

Serko in Auckland is offering a paid 12-week Summer Internship Programme from 1 December 2026 to 19 February 2027. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop and test software applications for business travellers.

You will write clean code, participate in code reviews, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to technical documentation while learning from mentors and industry professionals.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in final year of an Engineering program (software engineering, computer science or similar).
• Proficiency with HTML/CSS and JavaScript is expected.
• Familiarity with modern web frameworks (React) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design, development and testing of software applications.
• Collaborate with engineers to gather requirements and deliver solutions.
• Write clean, maintainable and efficient code.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
• Debug and troubleshoot software issues.

What you'll get to do

About You

• A strong passion for learning and a desire to grow as a software engineer.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills;
• Open to receiving constructive feedback in a safe and inclusive work environment.
• Currently enrolled and in final year studying in an Engineering program (e.g., software engineering, computer science) or a related field.
• Some particular technical skills we are looking for:

1. Must have: HTML/ CSS, JavaScript.
2. Good to have: React, Typescript or Bash experience;
