Job summary

Serko is a leading tech platform in global business travel and expense technology. We seek a Senior Engineer who will own major initiatives end-to-end, collaborating across Product and Technology to deliver high-quality software that delights customers.

You will tackle complex system-level challenges, mentor junior engineers, and help elevate our core infrastructure and design systems. You’ll operate with autonomy and ship production-ready solutions.

Qualifications

• Deep front-end and full-stack craft with Next.js/React, TypeScript, Tailwind, and Python fluency.
• Strong understanding of AI and agentic capabilities for safe, scalable product adoption.
• Experience integrating shared platform services and developer infrastructure (CI/CD, test automation).
• Excellent collaboration and mentorship skills with cross-team buy-in and clear communication.

You work alongside fellow Senior Engineers and being trusted with high autonomy to own major initiatives end-to-end and make the daily technical calls that keep teams shipping fast. You tackle the complex, system-level challenges that span beyond a single pod-proactively strengthening our agentic delivery systems, shaping solution design, and bringing clarity to our hardest engineering problems.

What you'll do

• Collaborate with cross-functional Product and Technology teams to create quality software that delights our customers
• Break down ambiguous problems into clear technical approaches and executable work.
• Champion consistent coding, testing and delivery practices within the team.
• Produce clean, consistent and well-organized solutions that align with our tech stack and regularly push changes to production.
• Identify cross-cutting concerns and address them early.
• Own delivery outcomes, ensuring predictability, quality and alignment with team goals.
• Ensure solutions are production-ready, including monitoring, alerting and run books where applicable.
• Mentor and support Engineer 1s and Engineer 2s through pairing, reviews and guidance.

What you'll bring

• Modern Full-Stack & Front-End Craft: Deep technical strength in Next.js/React, TypeScript, and Tailwind, with a sharp eye for building accessible, high-craft, customer-facing applications end-to-end. Working fluency in Python is valued.
• AI & Agentic Fluency: Solid understanding of AI and agentic capabilities, ensuring safe, scalable product adoption while actively using AI-assisted tools to multiply throughput for yourself and surrounding engineers.
• Systems Infrastructure & Platform Integration: Experience integrating shared platform services into live products and strengthening core developer infrastructure (CI/CD, test automation, dev environments) to elevate department-wide reliability and speed, alongside familiarity with Design Systems, component architecture, and responsive/accessible UI patterns.
• Collaboration & Mentorship: Proven track record of gaining buy-in for technical solutions, explaining complex decisions clearly, and collaborating across teams to solve cross-functional problems. Good communication skills with a history of mentoring across multi-teams.
