Job summary

BDO Manawatu is seeking an Intermediate or Senior Auditor to join our growing Audit and Assurance team in Palmerston North. This role focuses on a diverse client portfolio with an emphasis on New Zealand schools and the education sector.

You will work closely with Partners and Managers to deliver high-quality audits, with flexible arrangements and opportunities for professional development within a locally owned firm backed by the BDO global network.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Commerce, Accounting or equivalent.
• Minimum two years of public practice audit experience.
• Experience in a New Zealand CA firm and school audits is desirable.
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

The Role

As an Intermediate/Senior Auditor, you will work closely with Partners, Managers and fellow team members to deliver high-quality audit and assurance services to our clients.

A significant component of this role involves working with schools and education sector organisations, making previous school audit experience highly desirable.

The role is full-time (37.5 hours per week).

About You

• A Bachelor of Commerce, Accounting or equivalent qualification.
• At least two years' experience within a public practice audit environment.
• Experience working within a New Zealand CA firm.
• School audit experience, or a strong interest in developing expertise in the education sector.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• High attention to detail and organisational ability.
• A proactive approach and commitment to professional development.
• The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
