Job summary

Connetics is seeking an Intermediate Design Engineer to join the Substations & Protection team in New Zealand. You will support design projects across electrical infrastructure assets, gaining exposure from design through to construction and commissioning.

Collaborate with experienced engineers, customers, contractors, and operations, supporting planning, documentation, and estimates while contributing to best practices and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Experience in electrical, power, or infrastructure engineering.
• Interest in substation, protection, or network design projects.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively.
• A practical approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.

About the Role

We're looking for an Intermediate Design Engineer to join our Substations & Protection team.

Working alongside experienced engineers and project teams, you'll support the delivery of substation and protection design projects across a variety of electrical infrastructure assets. You'll gain exposure across the full project lifecycle, from concept and design through to construction and commissioning, while helping deliver practical solutions for our customers.

You'll be involved in:

• Supporting the design and delivery of substation and protection projects
• Assisting with project planning, coordination, and technical documentation
• Working closely with customers, contractors, and operational teams
• Supporting design estimates, pricing, and project variations
• Contributing to continuous improvement and engineering best practice initiatives

About You
