Job summary

Connetics is seeking an Intermediate Design Engineer to join the Substations & Protection team in New Zealand. You will support design projects across electrical infrastructure assets, gaining exposure from design through to construction and commissioning.

Collaborate with experienced engineers, customers, contractors, and operations, supporting planning, documentation, and estimates while contributing to best practices and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Experience in electrical, power, or infrastructure engineering.
• Interest in substation, protection, or network design projects.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively.
• A practical approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Support the design and delivery of substation and protection projects.
• Assist with project planning, coordination, and technical documentation.
• Work closely with customers, contractors, and operational teams.
• Support design estimates, pricing, and project variations.
