Job summary

Rocket Lab in Auckland is seeking an Integrated Operations Engineer II to support testing, launch processing and on-orbit operations. You will define requirements, develop CONOPs, and plan procedures to ensure safe, efficient testing and launches.

The role involves leading readiness reviews, configuring test facilities, and coordinating integration of test articles and flight vehicles, with emphasis on meticulous execution and teamwork.

Qualifications

  • Engineering degree in aerospace, mechanical, electrical or mechatronic fields.
  • 3+ years of engineering design, test and/or operations experience.
  • Ability to read and follow schematics, drawings and instructions.
  • Proven communication skills and ability to build strong working relationships.
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.

Responsibilities

  • Define test and operational requirements for launch-related activities.
  • Define CONOPs flow for testing and operations.
  • Plan, schedule, and conduct test and operations to meet schedules.
  • Develop procedures to safely conduct test and launch operations.
  • Lead or participate in gated readiness reviews before integration and testing.
  • Configure and checkout test stands, launch pads and control centres.
  • Integrate and checkout test articles and flight vehicles prior to testing.
  • Install and configure instrumentation for testing and operations.
  • Lead testing and operations activities following established practices.
  • Perform root cause analyses to prevent recurrence of issues.
  • Support design, development, deployment, operation and maintenance of related equipment and facilities.
