Job summary

At AIA, you will be an Underwriter in the Customer division, helping people access insurance by making fair, balanced underwriting decisions. You will assess medical and financial risk for new and existing business while supporting advisers and partners, building trusted relationships through clear communication and thorough analysis.

You will collaborate with experienced underwriters, medical professionals and reinsurers to ensure quality, compliance and efficient service.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in medical and financial underwriting.
• Ability to assess risk using multiple data sources.
• Strong attention to detail and accurate documentation.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Assess medical and financial information to make sound underwriting decisions.
• Build trusted relationships with advisers, customers, and internal stakeholders through clear communication.
• Explain underwriting decisions confidently to support understanding and policy conversion.
• Apply underwriting guidelines, authority limits, and reinsurance requirements consistently to maintain quality and compliance standards.
• Identify potential non-disclosures and take appropriate action to protect the integrity of underwriting decisions.
• Share knowledge and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
