Job summary

Placements24 is recruiting a meticulous Data Analyst for a well-established insurance provider operating across South Africa. Based in Queenstown with hybrid arrangements, you will collect, clean, and analyze large datasets to support operational decision-making and KPI reporting.

You will develop dashboards in Tableau/Power BI, work with SQL, Excel, and Python/R, and translate data into actionable recommendations.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
Proven experience as a Data Analyst, preferably within insurance or financial services.
Strong proficiency in data manipulation and analysis tools (SQL, Excel, Python/R).
Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI) is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

Collect, clean, and process data from various sources within the insurance operations environment.
Perform in-depth data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in operational performance metrics.
Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to visualize KPIs and operational insights.
Interpret data to provide actionable recommendations for process improvements and cost savings.
Collaborate with different departments to understand their data needs and provide analytical support.
Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across analyses.
Assist in developing and implementing data quality standards and procedures.
Stay updated with industry best practices in data analysis and BI.
Prepare presentations and communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
