Job summary

Papatoetoe North School in Mangere East, Auckland, seeks an inspiring Assistant Principal to lead our Years 1–8 junior school team. A collaborative leader, you will contribute to the Senior Leadership Team, oversee curricula and planning, and support health and safety reporting to the Board of Trustees.

You will champion relational trust, strengthen connections with staff, students and whānau, and drive our restorative approach and SENCO/Learning Support work.

Qualifications

• Senior leadership experience or equivalent in a school setting.
• Strong collaborative and relational leadership abilities.
• Commitment to equity, inclusion, and community engagement.

Responsibilities

• Lead and contribute to the senior leadership team planning, health and safety, and reporting to the Board of Trustees.
• Oversee syndicate teaching, planning checks, walkthroughs, observations, and Growth Cycle guidance.
• Champion teacher voice, build strong connections between leadership, staff, students and whānau.
• Lead restorative practices and SENCO/Learning Support initiatives within the school.
• Support bilingual pathways and cultural responsiveness within a diverse community.
