Job summary

Transpower New Zealand seeks an experienced Infrastructure and Design Manager to lead infrastructure lifecycle governance, design assurance and vendor performance. You will guide a capable team, manage outsourced partners, and ensure reliable, secure services in a complex environment.

You’ll shape roadmaps, drive continuous improvement and enable strong service management across end-user and core infrastructure, reporting to IST leadership in Wellington. Role is fixed-term (10–12 months).

Qualifications

• Experience leading enterprise technology infrastructure, end-user services, platforms or related tech functions.
• Experience managing complex tech services delivered by internal teams and MSPs.
• Experience supporting technology change, service improvement or lifecycle initiatives in a complex organisation.
• Experience managing vendor relationships, commercial outcomes and service performance with outsourced multi-supplier environments.
• Experience governing operational risk, resilience, recovery and service continuity within critical tech environments.
• Experience leading, coaching or enabling capable teams, especially through change or delivery pressure.

Responsibilities

• Lead infrastructure lifecycle management, governance and design assurance.
• Drive vendor performance, service management capability and operational controls.
• Shape infrastructure roadmaps aligned to enterprise architecture and priorities.
• Oversee security requirements and transition new tech into sustainable operations.
• Foster an inclusive, high-performing team culture and clear priorities.
