Job summary

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is seeking an Infection Prevention and Control Clinical Nurse Specialist to provide clinical leadership and coordination of the IPC programme, aligning with Ngā Paerewa and national guidance.

You will join the Quality and Patient Safety team, leading IPC initiatives, surveillance, education, audits, and governance activities while supporting system-wide improvements in patient safety.

Qualifications

Registered Nurse with NZ Practising Certificate.
Minimum 5 years clinical experience.
Postgraduate qualification in IPC or working towards.
Senior nurse PDRP or working towards.
Driver licence desirable.

Responsibilities

Lead IPC programmes and initiatives.
Surveillance, analysis and reporting of infections.
Provide specialist IPC advice across services within RN scope.
Lead outbreak and incident management.
Deliver education and building staff capability.
Support audit, quality improvement and governance activities.
