Job summary

Teradyne in Auckland, NZ, is seeking an Electronic Engineering Technician to join our production floor. You will install, test, and maintain electronic instruments and control systems on fabrication machinery.

The role requires fault-finding across electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, plus programming and commissioning of PLC/CNC equipment. You will work with suppliers and production staff to ensure reliability.

Qualifications

• Tertiary study or relevant work experience in Electronic Engineering, Industrial Electronics, Automation and Control, Instrumentation or Mechatronics.
• Experience with installation, testing, maintenance and repair of electronics in production machinery.

Responsibilities

• Install, inspect, test, modify, maintain and repair electronic instruments and control systems.
• Diagnose faults in industrial machinery by examining electronic, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic components.
• Test and troubleshoot controllers, sensors, switches, relays, drives, motors and instrumentation.
• Maintain PLC- and CNC-controlled production machinery and related systems.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance to reduce downtime.
• Liaise with machinery manufacturers, suppliers and service providers.
• Maintain records of faults, testing, repairs and calibrations.
• Assist with installation, relocation and recommissioning of production machinery.
