Job summary

AWF New Zealand is seeking an experienced Industrial Painter for marine and heavy industrial environments. You will join a specialist painting team handling critical assets, infrastructure, equipment, and machinery in a highly regulated setting where safety and quality are paramount.

You will perform surface preparation, abrasive blasting, and apply protective paint systems using airless spray, brush, and roller techniques, while reading technical specs and ensuring thickness requirements are

Qualifications

• Level 4 trade qualification in Industrial Painting or equivalent.
• At least 5 years of industrial, marine, heavy engineering, or construction painting experience.
• Proven experience with abrasive blasting and industrial paint systems.
• Experience operating airless spray equipment and knowledge of paint thickness testing requirements.
• NZ Class 1 Driver Licence and ability to obtain NZ Defence Security Clearance.

Are you an experienced Industrial Painter with a background in marine, heavy industrial, or asset maintenance environments? We're seeking a trade-qualified professional to join a specialist painting team working on critical marine assets, infrastructure, equipment, and machinery.

This is not a residential or commercial painting role. You'll be working in a highly regulated environment where quality, safety, and precision are essential.

What You Need

To be considered for this role, you must have:

• A recognised Level 4 trade qualification in Industrial Painting or equivalent
• At least 5 years of industrial, marine, heavy engineering, or construction painting experienceProven experience with abrasive blasting and industrial paint systems
• Experience operating airless spray equipment
• Knowledge of paint inspection and thickness testing requirements
• A full NZ Class 1 Driver Licence
• The ability to obtain and maintain a New Zealand Defence Security Clearance
