Job summary

Tradestaff is looking for an experienced Industrial Electrician for an opportunity based in beautiful Wānaka, Central Otago. Enjoy a lifestyle with lake access, hiking, skiing and stunning scenery on your doorstep.

Your day will include installing, maintaining and repairing industrial electrical systems, diagnosing faults, reading drawings, and ensuring safety compliance. Weekly pay, competitive rates and support from a friendly local recruitment team complete the package.

Qualifications

• Experience as an Industrial Electrician.
• Current NZ electrical registration and practising licence, or eligibility to obtain.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Experience with industrial machinery, motors and control systems.
• PLC, automation or instrumentation experience is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Installing, maintaining and repairing industrial electrical systems and equipment.
• Diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical faults.
• Working with motors, control panels, switchboards and industrial machinery.
• Carrying out preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs.
• Reading and interpreting electrical drawings and schematics.
• Testing, inspecting and ensuring electrical systems are operating safely.
• Working alongside maintenance teams and other trades.
• Ensuring all work complies with NZ electrical regulations and health and safety standards.

What we're looking for:

• Experience working as an Industrial Electrician
• Current NZ electrical registration and practising licence, or eligibility to obtain these
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
• Experience with industrial machinery, motors and control systems
• PLC, automation or instrumentation experience would be an advantage
• Ability to work independently and solve problems
• Full driver's licence preferred
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test
