Job summary

Magnetic Recruitment is seeking an experienced Industrial Electrician for a Dunedin site. You will operate within a modern, highly automated manufacturing environment, carrying out maintenance and fault diagnostics across automation, controls and reliability systems.

The role requires NZ EWRB registration and strong industrial electrical experience, with a focus on safety and team collaboration to drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• NZ Registered Industrial Electrician with NZ EWRB registration.
• Proven experience maintaining and fault-finding on industrial plant.
• Experience with motors, drives and automated control systems.

Responsibilities

• Maintain plant and diagnose complex electrical faults.
• Respond to breakdowns and implement fixes quickly.
• Work with motors, motor-control systems and VSDs.
• Maintain and troubleshoot automated control systems.
• Complete planned and preventative maintenance.
• Support plant reliability and continuous improvement.
• Share knowledge with the engineering team.
• Identify opportunities to improve equipment performance.

The Opportunity

Working across a modern, fully automated manufacturing site, you’ll enjoy plenty of variety and technical challenge. Your responsibilities will include:

• Maintaining plant and diagnosing complex electrical faults
• Responding to and resolving electrical breakdowns
• Working with motors, motor-control systems and Variable Speed Drives
• Maintaining and troubleshooting automated control systems
• Completing planned and preventative maintenance
• Supporting plant reliability and continuous improvement initiatives
• Sharing your technical knowledge across the wider engineering team
• Identifying opportunities to improve equipment performance and efficiency
