Job summary

The Devonport Primary School Board of Trustees – Devonport, North Island, invites applications for a part-time Teacher Aide to support students with emotional, behavioural and learning needs at Devonport, Auckland. You will work with teachers to provide one-on-one and small group support, fostering an inclusive learning environment.

You will contribute to a caring school community, collaborate with staff and whānau, and participate in professional development.

Qualifications

• Passion for supporting young learners and inclusive education.
• Experience with children, including those with additional learning or special needs (desirable).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships.
• Patience, empathy and a calm demeanour with diverse learners.
• Willingness to obtain a police check.
• Reliable with regular attendance.

Responsibilities

• Support students with social, emotional and behavioural needs in the classroom and around the school.
• Provide one-on-one and small group learning support to students under the direction of the classroom teacher.
• Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers regarding learning and behaviour.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding student information and school policies.
• Contribute to a positive, inclusive and supportive school culture.
• Attend professional development and training sessions as required.
